I attended medical school in my home state of Iowa, graduating from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 2007. I went on to complete internal medicine residency in 2011 at the University of Maryland. After completing residency I worked as a hospitalist in Maryland, then Illinois, for two and a half years before moving to Alaska.
After living in large cities for 6 years, my wife and I were ready to live in a place with ready access to the outdoors. I don’t think we could have done much better than Anchorage. I joined The Alaska Hospitalist Group in May 2014.
My passion outside of medicine is photography. I also enjoy hiking, backpacking, and fishing.
