I grew up in south eastern South Dakota and obtained an undergraduate degree in microbiology from South Dakota State University. For medical school I attended the University of South Dakota and then completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Summa Health System in Akron Ohio.
At that point my wife and I did not know where we wanted to live and found Alaska after deciding to go somewhere adventurous. We moved to Anchorage and I joined the Alaska Native Medical Center as a hospitalist in September 2010 where I worked until August 2013. The time at ANMC was positive but we needed a changed and so I joined The Alaska Hospitalist Group in September 2013. At that point my wife and I moved to Kenai so I could be the full time hospitalist at Central Peninsula Hospital. We are both excited to be living in a more rural area and feel the Kenai peninsula fits us perfectly.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and travel.
